Bringing the Flavor of the Richmond neighborhood history into Contemporary Living

As part of the larger development that includes the historic Alexandria Theater, the Alexandria Residences is a new building with 43 residential units, a small retail space and two levels of underground parking. Designed in a decidedly Mediterranean style, the building reflects the 1920's and 1930's architecture of much of the housing that was built in San Francisco's Richmond neighborhood. The new building features loft-like apartments on the 1st floor with a 200' x 30' outdoor space at the rear yard. The upper floors surround a gracious courtyard at the 2nd floor. With the central courtyard, all of the units have cross-ventilation, a rare commodity for a multi-family building in a dense setting. Units on the upper floor have balconies, some looking east toward Mount Sutro and Downtown and those on the west have views of The Presidio and Golden Gate Bridge.
